The opening of The Department for contemporary art was in January 2013 in the Avtozavodsky district of Tolyatti on the first and ground floor of a residential building on Sverdlov Street. From the very beginning of its existence The Department has done these tasks: the promotion of young artists of the city (through collective and personal exhibitions); the organization of research projects related to the rethinking of the Soviet cultural and architectural heritage; work with children: the development and realization of educational programs in contemporary art. In January 2019, the team The Department for contemporary art was completely changed. P>
The geography of archive covers 2 cities: Samara and Tolyatti and includes materials on contemporary art, starting from the 90s to the present moment. Archive materials can be divided into three groups: the Samara part, represented by such artists as Vladimir Logutov, Andrey Syaylev, Frol Vesyoliy, Oksana Stogova, Sergey Balandin, Nelya and Roman Korzhovy, Anastasia Albokrinova; Togliatti, including the period from the 90s to the 2000s. and representatives through art union “Solaris”, headed by Oleg Berezina, as well as artists Tatyana Chirikova, Tatyana Minsafina.
