The archive is based on digital documentation of projects from the 2010s and 2020s by choreographer and director Andrei Korolenko (Novosibirsk): video recordings of performances, photographs, posters, and press releases
Andrei Korolenko (b. 1992, Chita) is a choreographer, director, curator, and performer. In 2008 he moved to Novosibirsk, where he began his creative career. He completed educational programs in the field of contemporary dance, including Performance Artistic Research Lab (Design School, Higher School of Economics, Russia / Goldsmiths, University of London, UK), Mind and Movement by Studio Wayne McGregor (London), and others.
He is the founder, choreographer, and director of the independent project Sinestetika (Novosibirsk, 2015–2022). The project’s work includes the performances Modus (2016), Aspi (2017), We’ll Meet There, Where There is No Darkness (2017), She Will (2018), the interactive performances I Am Here (2018) and Proximity (2020), and the production 7.62 (2019).
He has worked with such institutions as Stary Dom Theater (Novosibirsk), Diana Vishneva Foundation (Moscow/St. Petersburg), GES‑2 House of Culture (Moscow), and GROUND Solyanka (Moscow).
His works as a choreographer and director have been shown at Winzavod Center for Contemporary Art and Gogol Center (Moscow), Sevcable Port Cultural Center, Erarta Museum of Contemporary Art, and the New Stage of the Alexandrinsky Theater (St. Petersburg), Kaliningrad Drama Theater, and theaters and other spaces in Novosibirsk. As an independent choreographer and director of physical theater he produced the performance Masculine Gender (2024) together with GROUND Solyanka, Moscow.
He curated the Physical Theater and Theater of Movement sections at the CHAOS (since 2023, Gravitation; organized by Stary Dom Theater, Novosibirsk) and Kamsk (Perm krai) theater festivals and at the Symbiosis laboratory of synthetic theater forms (Achinsk Drama Theater) and contemporary dance evenings at the Globus and Krasny Fakel / Red torch theaters (Novosibirsk).
He has participated in the festivals Context. Diana Vishneva, THEATRUM, Beijing Dance Festival, Open Look, and Point of Access. He was finalist in the young choreographers’ competition at Context. Diana Vishneva (2017). In 2021, he was a choreographer on the film Plaster Cast by the Diana Vishneva Foundation. In 2002, together with the festival Context. Diana Vishneva, he produced the performance Fragile. He lives and works in Moscow.
