Garage Archive Collection focuses on the work of artists, art historians, art institutions, and galleries, but Soviet and Russian art always went hand in hand with poetry and, starting with the futurists and continuing with the nonconformists, the word and the visual image alternated, transforming into hybrid essences. This selection presents poetry by various authors reflecting the breadth of poetic genres of the twentieth and twenty‑first centuries. It is drawn from the archives of art theorists Margarita Masterkova‑Tupitsyna and Viktor Agamov‑Tupitsyn, artists Ivan Sotnikov and Andrei Monastyrsky, art critic Lyubov Gurevich, poet Vladimir Aleinikov, writer and politician Eduard Limonov, gallerist Ildar Galeev, and art history Andrei Khlobystin.
