About the gallery

Victoria Gallery opened in Samara in May 2005. It has become a platform for a variety of projects and exhibitions, the participants of which included both representatives of traditional creative unions and young actors of experimental culture, international foundations and local cultural figures. Since it opened, the gallery’s work has intersected with that of the Shiryaevo International Biennale of Contemporary Art, V‑A-C Foundation, and with projects by numerous cultural foundations, Moscow and European curators, and self‑organized initiatives, both in Samara and abroad. Its partners have included leading Russian museums, such as the State Russian Museum, the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, the State Tretyakov Gallery, Moscow Museum of Modern Art, and Multimedia Art Museum Moscow. Documents about events held in the gallery are preserved in its archive.

About the archive

The core of the Victoria Gallery archive is made up of press releases, invitation cards, photo reports, and publications on exhibitions held in the gallery or initiated by it. Collected during the work of the gallery, these materials give an idea of the Samara art community and the city’s cultural links with Russia and other countries.
