Boris Koshelokhov's work is boundless in the full (visual) sense of the word. Only someone willing to set off on a months-long intellectual and sensual jorney, someone willing to look at hundreds of paintings on canvas and thousands of pastel drawings and computer graphics, could claim a complete acquaintance with the artist's oeuvre. The impression made by what this one man has wrought is on a par with that of a factory working nonstop over the course of many years. Koshelokhov's creative vision really does span the globe in all the essential details of its history: we recognize in his paintings the dynamic force of the universe's infinite metamorphosis. This book is about the period when Boris Koshelokhov just started painting, about the “Letopis” group, from which came Elena Figurina, and Timur Novikov, who later founded his group “New Artists”. In this book are collected dialogues with the artist, the texts of his friends, journalists, critics, illustrations and archival photographs.
