Archive of Artistic Life in Zapolyarye

The Archive of Artistic Life in Zapolyarye is an independent project which archives contemporary art in Murmansk Oblast. At present it covers the period from the mid‑1970s to the end of the 2000s. The archive is based on materials from the collection The Art Scene in Apatity, which contains testimonies, artworks, and documents provided by people involved in the art scene in Apatity (Murmansk Oblast) and information collected as a result of research in archives, libraries, and other open sources. The project will be supplemented with materials from other cities on the Kola Peninsula provided by invited curators, artists, and researchers.

The project was launched by independent curator and researcher Olga Shirokostup.
