Performing Data: Monika Fleischmann + Wolfgang Strauss

Catalogue of an exhibition produced jointly by the National Centre for Culture and Laznia Centre for Contemporary Art in the scope of the “Art&Science Meeting” project. The exhibition presented at Laznia between April 15 — June 26, 2011 was a retrospective of Monika Fleischmann and Wolfgang Strauss. The artists are pioneers of interactive media arts. Since the beginning of their artistic and scientific careers they used computers as means and medium. Their experimental work is centered around the notions of interactivity in art and in science, and the web as interface. Beside texts by Monika Fleischmann and Wolfgang Strauss, the catalog includes articles by Ryszard W. Kluszczyński, Derrick de Kerckhove and Luca Farulli.
