From Gulag to Glasnost: Nonconformist Art from the Soviet Union

Exhibition at the Jane Voorhees Zimmerli Art Museum, October 1995. The purpose of this initial publication is to introduce the general parameters of Soviet nonconformist art as it is charted in the Dodge Collection. These works demonstrate the greatly varied styles, subjects, and media employed by hundreds of dissident artists, working not only in Russia but also in eleven former Soviet republics.
